International students at UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin (STS) Jambi joined in the spirit of Eid al-Adha this year as the university distributed sacrificial meat packages on 28 May 2026. The event took place in front of the former Faculty of Ushuluddin building, symbolising inclusivity and shared blessings across the campus community.
The initiative was designed to ensure that foreign students could experience the atmosphere of Eid al-Adha as they would in their home countries, while also extending the sense of togetherness and prosperity to all members of the university.
Representatives from Thailand, Anwar and Baliya, received their packages from Vice Rector I, Dr. Ayub Mursalin. Meanwhile, Malaysian students Adam and Azmi were presented with gifts by Vice Rector II, Dr. Pahmi and Vice Rector III, Dr. Jamaluddin. The distribution was accompanied by the Coordinator of the Centre for International Services and Cooperation (PLKI).
In his remarks, Rector Prof. Dr. H. Kasful Anwar, M.Pd., emphasised the importance of unity across cultures. “We want everyone to feel the wisdom and blessings of Eid al-Adha, including our international students,” he said.
Chair of the organising committee, Vice Rector II Dr. Pahmi, confirmed that this year’s distribution extended beyond local students. “We can report that the sacrificial offerings this year were also channelled to foreign students at UIN STS Jambi, namely those from Malaysia and Thailand,” he noted.
The gesture highlights UIN STS Jambi’s commitment to fostering a welcoming environment for its international community, reinforcing bonds of solidarity during one of Islam’s most significant celebrations.
