Jambi- On Monday evening, June 8, 2026, the Postgraduate Program in English Language Education at UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi convened a guest lecture that underscored the university’s growing international ties. The session, held via Zoom at 8 p.m. local time, featured Dr. Dunja Radojkovic of the University of Macau, who joined students and faculty for a discussion on Critical Discourse Analysis in English language teaching.
The lecture was part of the course Current Issues in Language Teaching (CILT), co-taught by Dr. Dion Ginanto and Dr. Kristian Adi Putra, a visiting professor from Prince Sattam University. Dr. Kristian, covering the topic of discourse analysis, invited Dr. Radojkovic—his former classmate at the University of Arizona—to share her expertise.
Students from the first and third semesters listened as Dr. Radojkovic explored methods of analyzing classroom conversations, a subject that has become increasingly relevant in global English pedagogy. The evening began with introductory remarks from Dr. Kristian, followed by Dr. Radojkovic’s presentation, and concluded with a lively question-and-answer session.
University leaders framed the event as part of a broader effort to expose students to international perspectives. English Study Program Head, Dr. Zarfina expressed appreciation for the initiative. “We are grateful to Dr. Dion Ginanto and Dr. Kristian Adi Putra for bringing in a guest lecturer from the University of Macau. We hope more programs like this will continue, providing global insights for UIN Jambi students,” she said.

For UIN Jambi, the guest lecture was not only an academic exercise but also a statement of intent: to position its postgraduate program within a wider international discourse on language education.
