The International Office of UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi, in collaboration with UKM PIKMA and PCMI, held an online information session on Saturday, August 15, to introduce the Wirasena Youth Camp 2026. The event, conducted via Zoom, attracted students from UIN STS Jambi as well as participants from other universities across Indonesia.
The program, part of a government initiative, seeks to foster youth leadership and prepare participants for international exchange opportunities. Provincial-level selections will determine candidates who advance to the national stage. From there, participants will join a centralized camp before being dispatched to various countries based on their interests and abilities.
Dion Ginanto, one of the speakers, encouraged students from Jambi to seize the opportunity with confidence. “Let’s prove that Jambi can bring its own color to Indonesia. We are capable, and we must not feel inferior to our peers from Java,” he said. He added, “This is a government program, financed by taxpayers. It is our right to take part in it.”
Erwin Hage emphasized the four qualities expected of participants: leadership, social impact, communication skills, and integrity. “What makes this program unique is that English proficiency is not a requirement. That makes it an extraordinary opportunity for all of us,” he noted.
The initiative highlights Indonesia’s broader effort to expand access to international experiences for young people, while reinforcing the idea that leadership and civic responsibility can emerge from every region of the country.
